Q'orianka Kilcher says: No Mining in Paradise!

Q'orianka Kilcher, actress (The New World and Princess Kaiulani) and human rights activist, has expressed her concern regarding the human rights violations in northern area of Peru and expresses her support for the communities' demand to declare their provinces no-go zones for mining.

In recent years, Kilcher has shown a great involvement with Peru's indigenous peoples through one of their representative organisations, AIDESEP, speaking out in protection of the rain forest against the threat of the extractive industries. She recently visited Peru with her on-Q Initiative, an organisation that aims to build and support an international community of inspired youth activist and grass roots projects, dedicated to the defense of basic Human Rights Environmental and Social Justice, Indigenous Peoples Rights and Universal dignity, compassion in all its forms.
